8-10 Helena Special Olympics State Basketball Tournament The Special Olympics State Basketball Tournament brings together approximately 575 developmentally disabled athletes from across the state to compete in team play and individual skills competition. Volunteer coaches provide a minimum of eight weeks of basketball training in their home communities prior to the event. On arrival in Helena, Special Olympics athletes are prepared for the pace and intensity of competition.
