SUMMARY:String Orchestra of the Rockies: “Heroes and Legends”
LOCATION:UM Music Recital Hall
DESCRIPTION:Archived listing. This event listing is from February 2018. Dat
es and details change\, so check with the organizer before you go. Quickly
distinguishing himself with a voice that the Salt Lake Tribune declares i
s “heaven sent\,” tenor and accomplished cellist Brian Stucki joins th
e String Orchestra of the Rockies. Noted for a voice that possesses great
power and nuance\, Stucki joins the SOR and UM horn professor Zachary Coop
er in a Montana debut performance of Britten’s evocative Serenade for Te
nor\, Horn\, and Strings. Elsewhere on the program\, Montana’s own Chris
Kirkpatrick and Chris Mothersole perform on clarinet and the rarely heard
basset horn\, a first for the SOR. Expect the unexpected when tenor virtu
oso Stucki sings and plays self-arranged operatic arias from the cello! ht
