Dunrovin Ranch

Suzanne MillerSuzAnne Miller is the owner of Dunrovin Ranch. A fourth-generation Montanan, SuzAnne grew up roaming the mountains and fishing the streams of western Montana. Her love of nature, animals, science, and education prompted her to create the world’s first cyber ranch where live web cameras bring Dunrovin’s wildlife and ranch life to internet users across the globe.

Cool Dude is exactly that – one very cool dude who is a favorite of all the children that he meets. Sturdy enough to carry a small adult, his short stature and easy going, slow moving personality inspires confidence among new riders of any age.

Ponies are famous for their independent ways, sturdy bodies, lazy natures, and willful dispositions. Cool Dude fits the “pony bill” in that he can be lazy. He can also be stubborn and cantankerous with the other members of the herd. He can be uncooperative. But unlike many other ponies, Dunrovin’s Cool Dude is always kind. He is always careful with his riders. He never offers resistance or misbehaves. He is always patient with little hands that paint him, groom him, apply hoof polish, braid his tail and mane, or pull his mane in a struggle to mount him.

He frequently gives rides to small adults as well as children. Many foreign students form Asia visit Dunrovin while attending the University of Montana, and he is a perfect fit for those who have never even seen a horse before. In fact, one of Cool Dude’s most memorable guest riders was a woman from Japan, Shigeko Sasamori. As a 13 year old school girl, Shigeko survived the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima City. Please read her story about surviving and her joyful ride with Cool Dude.
