Flathead Audubon starts the New Year by inviting participation in its annual Mission Valley field trip on Sunday, January 18. Participants will look for hawks, waterfowl and other winter residents of the beautiful valley.
Please sign up early for the field trip. Carpooling is encouraged as vehicle numbers will be limited. Meet trip leaders Leslie Kehoe and Bob Lee at 8 a.m. at the Somers Park 'n' Ride at the intersection of US Highway 93 and MT Highway 82. Participants will bird along Flathead Lake, through Polson and south into the Mission Valley. Polson and Mission Valley birders wishing to join the field trip should call the trip leaders for a meeting time at the Polson McDonald's. Birders will return in late afternoon.
