International Migratory Bird Day is a yearly event conducted to make people aware of birds. International Migratory Bird Day celebrates and brings attention to one of the most important and spectacular events in the Americas - bird migration. There are excellent bird watching opportunities along Red Sleep Mountain Drive. This route travels through a variety of habitats and a wide range of birds can be seen, including lazuli buntings, red-breasted nuthatches and even golden eagles.

Events for the day include guided bird walks (registration required), demonstrations and small talks about backyard bird feeding, nest boxes and bird identification. There will be trivia contests and free posters. Call 406-644-2211 for details and registration.
