Missoula Community Theatre-- MISSOULA-- January 17th- May 11th

January 17th

Since 1977, the Missoula Community Theatre has held open auditions for musicals, and non-musical plays. People from Missoula and surrounding areas enjoy performances each fall through spring.

2014 EVENTS:

9 to 5, the Musical- January 17th-19th, 22nd-26th Based on the 1980 hit movie, 9 to 5, the Musical tells the story of three female co-workers pushed to the boiling point by their boss; a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot. The women conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do—even in a man's world. 9 to 5, the Musical is about teaming up and taking care of business.

Lend Me a Tenor- March 21st-23rd, 26th-30th As far as buffoonery, broad humor, simple characterization and ludicrously improbable situations go, audiences cannot go wrong with this ridiculously funny play, which has been earning belly laughs worldwide for the past 25 years. The plot revolves around the Cleveland Opera Company. A famous Italian tenor is making his American debut in the company's production of Otello. The financial and critical success of the company depends on his performance—and nobody is more aware of this than the short-tempered general manager, who will stop at nothing to make sure the show goes on!

Les Miserables- April 25th-27th, April 30th-May 4th, May 7th-11th Set in 19th century France, this international smash-hit tells the life story of convict Jean Valjean and his life-long struggle for redemption. Relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, Valjean makes his way through France and eventually to the Paris student uprising of 1832. Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Misérables packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. The score overflows with melodies that are already standards, but its powerful affirmation of the human spirit is what has made Les Misérables a popular masterpiece.
