The Face of Thai Cuisine: Rice Fine Thai

Rice Fine Thai Cuisine, with locations in Bozeman and across Montana, is dedicated to delivering authentic Thai flavors to its many delighted customers.

Owner Pam Mongkolpla was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, moving to Bozeman in 1997 as a high school student, when authentic Thai food wasn't available locally. She missed her favorite dishes, and called her grandmother to learn how to prepare them.

"Rice is the cornerstone of every Thai meal," Pam says. She called her first restaurant Rice because "the name embodies something simple, essential, and deeply connected to our culture."

Pam, who has architectural training, designs each new restaurant herself. "It's something I truly love and still enjoy doing alongside the culinary side of the business."

Rice Thai, the "Best New Restaurant" in 2013's Best of Bozeman, has also been voted "Best Thai Food" in Montana by the readers of Distinctly Montana in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Notably, Thailand's Ministry of Commerce gave Rice Thai the prestigious "Thai Select" award. Enjoy a spicy Tom Yum soup or a sweet and creamy Thai Iced Tea and you will understand why.
