Get ready for some big fun as we bring to life the story of this oversized, misunderstood, green ogre–or is he a hero? Toss in a crazy mixture of fractured fairytale characters with attitude to spice it up, such as an overly-chatty donkey and a pretty princess with panache. This funny musical feast is mixed with pop culture references, adolescent humor, catchy tunes, and a traditional happy ending. It is a delight for the whole family.
HOW IT RATES: Like the animated film, there are fun songs, a good moral, and a happy ending. If you think the movie is okay for your kids, this will be, too. But if you’re not ready to introduce them to PG-rated wisecracks, you might want to plan for child care.
