The People's Tree Celebration runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Jim Duffy Arena, with a chance to see the tree up close and meet the team behind it. There's $5 chili benefiting the Gardiner Gateway Hose Company Fire and EMS (bring cash), and hot chocolate too.
Earlier Saturday in Missoula, the Mount Jumbo Elk Ramble 15K is the only organized trail race on Mt. Jumbo, and one of the last chances to get up there before the hill closes to all recreation on December 1 and goes back to the elk for the winter.
In the old gold camp of Marysville, the General Store and Cotton Club host Marysville Fall Fest from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with wood art, paintings and local honey.
Way out east, the Forsyth Fall Frenzy fills the Rosebud County Exhibit Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with makers, artisans and small shops, and admission is free.
Saturday night, Whitefish Olympian Maggie Voisin and Parkin Costain host the Stumptown Film Festival at Majestic Valley Arena in Kalispell at 7. In Billings, One Night in Memphis brings its tribute to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins to the Alberta Bair Theater.
Still need a ski fix on Sunday? Warren Miller's Days Off plays the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish at 5 p.m.
