VIDEO: Hunter and Son Capture Incredible Moment With Cow Elk

A man and his son had an amazing encounter with a cow elk, and they were lucky enough to catch it on film.  Shot in Colorado, the video captures the whole incredible moment.

According to the man and his boy, "While hunting our first morning, we were working a bench at around 10,200 feet when Zachary spotted a few cow elk with a bull about 100 feet below. Before we knew it one of the cow elk was right on top of us, which made for an awesome experience."

The thing that we thought was most surprising is the efficacy of the camouflage, even from just a few feet away - you can clearly see the moment that the cow realizes that something isn't quite right with the two generally foliage-colored objects in front of him, quite possibly because of scent more than eyesight. 

Eventually, the cow realizes that there is indeed something there - two things, in fact - and takes off.  The boy raises his bow, but his father gently tells him no, they should wait for the buck. 

One thing seems certain.  It's an encounter they won't soon forget.
