Rodeos, art walks, fiddle contests and Christmas strolls from Glacier Country to the Missouri Breaks. Our new events calendar gathers them up, and a free email brings your corner of the state to you every Wednesday.

Ask anyone who's lived here a while and they'll tell you the best Montana weekends aren't the ones you plan. They're the ones you stumble into. The pie social in a grange hall. The street dance after the parade. The ranch rodeo two towns over that nobody mentioned until Monday.

We'd like you to stop hearing about them on Monday.

This fall, Distinctly Montana launched a statewide events calendar at distinctlymontana.com/events. It's built the way we'd want to use it ourselves: one place to see what's happening across Montana this week, this weekend and in the months ahead.

Your corner of Montana

Montana is too big for one list. The calendar is organized around the state's six travel regions: Glacier Country, Southwest Montana, Yellowstone Country, Central Montana, Missouri River Country and Southeast Montana. Pick yours and the towns follow. Narrow it further with quick filters for Today, This weekend, Free and Family-friendly, or choose an event type, from live music and farmers markets to rodeos, fairs and holiday lights.

Each event has its own page with the details that matter: when, where, what it costs, a link to the organizer, an Add to calendar button, and for anything happening in the next few days, a seven-day weather forecast. Because in Montana, that's not a nice-to-have.

The big annual traditions, the signature events people plan their summers around, stay on the calendar year-round, so you can find them even before the next dates are announced.

A short email, every Wednesday

The easiest way to use the calendar is to let it come to you. Sign up at distinctlymontana.com/events/subscribe, tap your region on the map, and every Wednesday you'll get a short email with the week's events near you and a few that are worth the drive. It's free, and you can switch regions or unsubscribe any time.

It lands midweek on purpose: early enough to make plans, late enough that the weekend's lineup is set.

Know of something we're missing?

We check the calendar every day, merge duplicates, and keep listings current, but nobody knows a town's events like the people who put them on. If you're organizing something, from a library story time to a three-day festival, send it in at distinctlymontana.com/events/submit. And if a listing needs a fix, every event page has a link for organizers to send an update.

One promise from us: the calendar is about the things that bring Montanans together. You'll find fairs, concerts, feeds, fundraisers and footraces. You won't find campaign rallies.
