The Montana Folk Festival is a free outdoor music festival in the heart of uptown Butte. For three days in July, stages beneath the old mine headframes host folk, bluegrass, blues, Latin and world music, plus dancing, food and a traditions market. It started in 2008 as the National Folk Festival's Butte stop and has carried on since.
