Most parents will be able to recognize the scenario here: baby wanders off to look at something, even though Mom said not to.  Stay close, Mom said.  But the baby's so darn curious, he wanders away just for a second.  And then, before you know it, Mom has stomped over and grabbed the kid by the ear, hollering, "didn't I say not to wander off?"

Well, it happens in the animal world too, as this video shows. Shot in Boone, NC, the video picks up after the women filming had already heard a commotion outside.  They found the bears munching on birdseed, playing in their inflatable pool, and scaling their second-floor deck. But then their dog went nuts, and that's when the real fun started, as the cub came to the front door to investigate.

The little fellow stands up on his hind legs, which waver uncertainly until he braces his paw against the door jamb.  The dog finds all of this extremely stimulating, as it keeps barking and barking.  Then, in a moment that would be scary if it weren't so relatable and cute, the mama bear appears, climbing over the deck.  She walks right over to the cub and collects it by the scruff of its neck.

But then there's the matter of how to get back off the deck.  First, she looks over the edge, but she soon thinks better of it and heads off (presumably to the stares) while the little cub pads along behind her.

It's a universally relatable moment of mothering - the kind of thing that translates even among different species.
