Horse trainer and riding instructor Renee Pipinich leads a four-week beginner horsemanship clinic at Reining Horses Unlimited in Helena. Sessions run in the indoor arena on four Saturdays, October 31 and November 7, 14 and 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the arena opens at 10 for warm-ups.
It's built for riders who are just starting out or want more balance, confidence and better communication with their horse. Over the four weeks, riders work on balance and body position, posting at the trot, loping and leads, guiding and steering, stopping and transitions, riding cues, and the timing and feel of when to ask and when to release.
The full four-week clinic is $400. The clinic is almost full, and once it fills, riders go on a waitlist and are contacted if a spot opens. Call or text Renee Pipinich at 406-422-6873 to reserve a spot.
