Distinctly Montana Monthly Subscription Giveaway: Official Rules

1. Sponsor
Thunderstruck Media LLC, publisher of Distinctly Montana magazine, 280 W Kagy Blvd STE D-286, Bozeman, MT 59715 ("Sponsor"). Entries are collected through Second Street (Upland Software), which hosts our signup forms, quizzes and polls. Facebook, Instagram and other social networks do not sponsor, endorse or administer this giveaway.
2. Who can enter
Legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 or older when they enter. Employees and contractors of the Sponsor, and members of their immediate families and households, are not eligible. A person who won in the previous 12 months is not eligible.
3. Entry periods
The giveaway runs every month until the Sponsor ends it. Each entry period starts on the 15th of a month at 12:00 a.m. Mountain Time and ends on the 14th of the next month at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time.
4. How to enter
You're entered when, during an entry period, you do any of the following on distinctlymontana.com:
- Sign up for the free Distinctly Montana weekly newsletter with the signup form on our website.
- Complete a Distinctly Montana quiz or poll (see our Quizzes & Polls) and give your email address.
- Enter any other way named, with a link to these rules, in a Distinctly Montana promotion.
Free entry by mail: you can also enter by mailing a postcard with your name, email address, mailing address and the words "Monthly Subscription Giveaway" to Distinctly Montana Giveaway, 280 W Kagy Blvd STE D-286, Bozeman, MT 59715. A mailed entry counts in the entry period in which it is received.
One entry per person per entry period, however many ways you enter and however many quizzes you take. Duplicate entries are combined by email address and name before the drawing. Entries made with automated means, or with more than one email address to get extra chances, are void.
5. The prize
One prize per entry period, made up of two parts:
- A one-year print subscription to Distinctly Montana magazine (four quarterly issues) mailed to a U.S. address. Approximate retail value: $39.95. If the winner already subscribes, their current subscription is extended by four issues instead. The subscription does not renew automatically.
- A $50 gift card to Distinctly Montana Marketplace, our made-in-Montana gift shop at distinctlymontanagifts.com, sent to the winner by email as a gift card code. It can be used for purchases on distinctlymontanagifts.com only, is subject to that store's gift card terms, and cannot be redeemed for cash except where the law requires.
Total approximate retail value: $89.95. The prize has no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged. The Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.
6. The drawing
On or about the 15th of each month, the Sponsor draws one winner at random from all eligible entries received during the entry period that just ended. The draw is recorded: the number of eligible entries, the method, and the random seed are kept with the result. Two alternates are drawn at the same time. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
7. Notification and claiming the prize
The winner is notified by email from Distinctly Montana. The notification email includes the $50 gift card code. If we don't already have the winner's mailing address on file, the email asks for it. The winner has 14 days from the notification email to reply with a U.S. mailing address. If the winner doesn't reply in time, is found ineligible, or the email can't be delivered, the subscription is forfeited and goes to the first alternate, under the same terms. A gift card already sent to a winner who is later found ineligible may be canceled. The first issue mails with the next regular issue after the winner's address is confirmed.
8. Publicity
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that the Sponsor may announce their first name, last initial, city and state, and the quiz, poll or signup through which they won, in the Distinctly Montana newsletter, on distinctlymontana.com and on our social media, without further payment, where the law allows.
9. General conditions
The Sponsor may cancel, suspend or change the giveaway if fraud, technical failure or any other problem beyond its control affects its fairness. The Sponsor isn't responsible for lost, late, incomplete or misdirected entries or emails, or for technical problems with any website, form or network. Decisions of the Sponsor about the giveaway are final. Taxes, if any, are the winner's responsibility.
10. Privacy
Information you give when you enter is used to run the giveaway and to send the Distinctly Montana newsletter, which you can unsubscribe from at any time. See our policies.
11. Law
This giveaway is governed by the laws of the State of Montana. It is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
