VIDEO: Yellowstone Tourist Gets Between Bull Elk and His Cows
November 16, 2021
Let's just start by getting this out of the way. During the rutting season - no, in fact, never - get between a bull elk and his cows. If you know what's good for you, that is. This video, filmed at Yellowstone National Park, shows another instance of an overconfident tourist doing something he shouldn't, in this case positioning himself in between the bull elk and his harem.
The bull elk starts by bugling, but soon he's running, head own, antlers forward, at the yahoo. The only thing that keeps the man from getting impaled on antlers is that the elk seems to be bluff charging. Thank goodness he wasn't any more angry than he was.
You do have to admire the guy's tuck and roll, though. Pretty impressive.
Don't do like this guy did, and stay away from a bull elk's harem.
