Our Best Montana Party Ever!

MONTANA PARTY RENTALS

Montana Party Rentals is committed to providing unique rentals to help our clients personalize their celebrations.  To name our favorite event is impossible; however, two were outstanding. For one, a couple with a quirky taste for fun had a country carnival wedding.  Rentals included cotton candy and sno-cone machines, a popcorn popper, festive games, bright red enamelware, and mason jars for drinks. Another was the 50th birthday celebration planned from London; the guests flew in from every corner of the world, not knowing that their final destination would be a guest ranch in Paradise Valley. We provided tipis that were used for changing rooms after a float on the river.  Our transparent canopy covered a mechanical bull, among other Montana-style rentals. We are fortunate to not only have wonderful clients—but also vendors—with whom we work to ensure success.  In March, Montana Party Rentals will be moving to our new location at the corner of Huffine & Love Lane in Bozeman.

JOHN BOZEMAN’s BISTRO

Way back in the pioneer days of John Bozeman’s Bistro, owner and chef, Tyler Hill, decided to throw his very own Wild Game and Forage Feast.  The rules: The food had to be hunted or home-grown; when mealtime came, the mystery meats were to be a surprise, a culinary “don’t ask, don’t tell.” The result? A carnivore’s cornucopia, from bear haunch and moose chili to smoked whitefish and bobcat cacciatore (meaning “hunter-style”in Italian). There was even a “tastes like chicken” rattlesnake Tyler rock-beaned while fly-fishing earlier that week.  Other dishes included soups, stews, grills and Dutch ovens of hare, fowl, antelope, elk and deer, homemade jellies of juneberry and chokecherry, and a collection of chanterelles and morels collected by “Dangerous Dan ”(again, don’t ask).  Even the libations flowed by the rules, as homemade beer and wine soon washed away doubting palates, but not memories, of Chef Tyler’s best Montana party ever.  For bobcat cacciatore and other Montana delicacies, hasten to John Bozeman’s Bistro.

BEAUTIFUL WEDDINGS

One of my favorite memories from this past year is when I worked with two sisters getting married in the same year. I asked the women to describe their experience with our bridal boutique and this is what they said.

“Beautiful Weddings in Missoula created special and memorable events for both of us. When two sisters have weddings six months apart, life can be somewhat stressful especially when we were at a loss about where to buy a wedding dress. We looked everywhere and were not happy until we found Beautiful Weddings. Doreen Breza, the owner, made us feel like we were her number one priority whenever we stepped into her shop.  She helped us not only select both of our dresses but also helped us choose each accessory—from shoes to tiara.  She helped with the mother of the bride’s dress as well as the bridesmaids’ and took care of our alterations right in the shop.  Our dream weddings became a wonderful reality.”

BAXTER HOTEL

Deciding on the best party we’ve ever had at The Baxter was not an easy task. We’ve hosted elegant weddings, intriguing art shows, glamorous fundraisers and so much more. When it came to decision time, however, we kept going back to a winter wedding that was the epitome of tradition, elegance, and class. Nicholas and Nicole said their vows in the ballroom of The Baxter under soft lighting and a beautiful archway. The maple hardwood floors, long white drapes, arched windows, and warm smiles served as the perfect backdrop. The room quickly transformed from a ceremony to a bustling reception with flawless food from Ted’s Montana Grill and service organized by Carrie Seyfert from Bitterroot Events and Concierge.  From the centerpieces to the desserts the attention to detail was incredible, the results breathtaking. The Baxter has a variety of options for any event.

RO SHAM BO

I love it when someone comes to me with a vision that I can turn into a reality. This happened when our first bride-to-be walked through the doors of Ro Sham Bo Paperie with a desire to share with her wedding guests some of the beautiful places which she and her fiancée had been lucky enough to visit together. We did this by scanning 13 large canvases that a good friend had painted for them of landscapes where they had visited. The paintings became the table centerpieces, and the scans became the seating cards with each person finding his or her seat by the imagery printed on the front of the card. The wedding table itself featured Lone Peak in Big Sky, the location of their future home together.  The tables brought a beautiful cohesion to a day celebrating both their past and future.

CANYON RIVER SPA

We at Canyon River Spa agree that the most rewarding part of our job is to be able to make someone’s special day even more spectacular. One wedding party stands out for all of us. On this particular day we witnessed a party for four generations of women and their close friends. After their arrival by limousine they were taken back to the changing room and our large eucalyptus steam room.  After hot showers, the women emerged, wearing fluffy velour robes, and shared memories by the fireplace in the relaxation room as they sipped lattes.   The bride-to-be and her mother enjoyed side-by-side massages in our couples’ fireplace suite where they were able to discuss the upcoming event.  In the nail room the whole group enjoyed manicures and pedicures while they ate prepared lunches.  Laughter and smiles rang throughout the Spa. The mother of the bride shed tears while watching her daughter’s hair and makeup being done in the Salon.  When the party ended, the flower girl, with pink fingernails and pink lip-gloss, announced she couldn’t wait to come back.  Everyone agreed, and we can’t wait to see them again!

HABITAT FLORAL STUDIO & EVENTS

A spectacular event was to create a birthday celebration spanning five days.  Without knowing their final destination, guests from around the world finally arrived in Montana. Each morning guests would receive an invitation to the day’s activities.  They included: watching the sunset to the sounds of Native American drummers while dining on tables laden with antler sheds and local wildflowers, a boisterous Bachelor and Spinster black tie ball complete with a palm reader, a morning horseback ride in Paradise Valley followed by a picnic lunch featuring tables with arrangements of hydrangea and blackberries and custom birch charger engraved with a brand created especially for the guest.  The final evening was held in an historic working barn.   Our “habitat” design featured a trough of succulents and cacti and place settings accented with hand-blown goblets and beautiful copper chargers.  After a fine meal sourced with all Montana-grown ingredients, guests were led to the barn’s hayloft for dancing.
