Ever been close to a seriously pissed-off grizzly bear?

Not us, and we hope it stays that way.  But watching this video taken outside of Whitefish, Montana is a nice, safe alternative.  That way you get all the fun of seeing a very angry bear charge at you, jaws open wide, malice in its eyes, etc., without any actual risk to life and limb!

The release of the bear was part of a program intended to release grizzlies into areas in which they have not lived for a long time.  This particular bear was at one pointed suspected to have killed a man a few days before but DNA testing proved this was another animal.  The animal was captured, drugged, and transplanted into a more remote area, with fewer opportunities to interact with the human world.

But, as the owner of the camera says the bear "had his own idea which involved a bit of revenge on the damn humans with the audacity to trap him," in this case by nearly destroying the mounted camera meant to capture his release.

As soon as the door is open, the bear shoots out of the enclosure like the proverbial bat out of hell.  Then he immediately makes a beeline for the camera, which he pounces on with what could only be calculated rage.  For one brief moment, you can see both his back feet off the ground as he tackles this hated artifact of the human world.

If it had been a person and not a camera, it would almost certainly be dead.  But amazingly, the camera survived and still works.  Although, as the videographer says, "it's now scored with grizzly teeth marks."

My question would be, why release a dangerous predator. I hate to think what will happen the next time this bear has contact with a human.

I'll do that too if you lock me up in a small dark space for more than 2 seconds
