You don't think of bears as timid creatures, and you don't necessarily think of cows as scary, but a remarkable piece of footage filmed just outside of Yellowstone turns our cliches about these animals on their heads.

Taken way back when in 2009, when cell phone video quality was a bit dicier, and the world was simpler, this video shows a crafty bear sneak onto a ranch near the Cody, WY entrance to the park.  The bear first gets in between two rungs of the fence, and then he pulls himself through.

But as he starts to look around, he finds that a whole lot of cattle are running for him, mooing up a storm.  The bear pricks his ears and seems stunned for a moment.  And then he turns tail and runs for the fence, deciding that while maybe one or two cows might be a tasty repast, a whole herd of him might just stomp him into jelly.

It's probably not a story the bear will tell his friends, lest he develop some new ursine nicknames as a result.  But there's one thing about his exit you've got to admire.  The griz takes a moment to get his whole bulk through the fence the first time.  But the second, with all those tons of beef bearing down on him, he gets through the fence right quick.
